"Over the last 8 years I have hired Matthew for me personally, as a trustee a for 21 unit condominium building in the Back Bay, and as a property manager for a condominium Association in the Back Bay. He has performed both in-unit and common area repairs and installations with the utmost care and professionalism. He’s careful, gets, the job done right and he’s one of those contractors who gets along with everyone.
Over all these years there’s never been a complaint and he always makes sure his clients are completely happy with the end result. Anyone who hires Mathew will be in excellent hands."

Properly installed plumbing is essential for a safe and healthy living space. Besides causing flooding or fires, improperly installed (or removed) plumbing piping and fixtures (toilets, hose bibs, stoves, boilers) can leak harmful sewer gas, carbon monoxide, or create potable water contamination. If your job involves potable water piping (water to and from the faucet), sewer drainpipes, or a fuel gas (natural gas or propane) by law, it must be installed by a licensed plumber (or gasfitter) and must conform to our state code. This keeps us, our neighbors and the environment clean and healthy. We will never spam you with texts or emails and never perform more work than necessary. We will never try to sell you products but we are very health conscious so the one and only recommendation we have is for a water filtration system (see below). Feel free to purchase any plumbing or gas products yourself and we can install them granted they are product approved in the state of Massachusetts.
Plumbing emergencies can happen at any time and be disastrous, so we offer emergency service. Our business is still small so we cannot yet guarantee a response 24/7 but if you are in need, please give us a call or text or two and if someone is available, we will be there as soon as possible to help out. Even if we cannot make it in person after hours, we will try to help you the best we can over the phone for free.
Regular plumbing maintenance can help prevent costly repairs down the road. Our team can help you keep your plumbing system in top condition with our maintenance services and even show you some do-it-yourself tips and tasks.

Matt grew up with his two older sisters in Quincy, Braintree, and Marshfield. His mother was a Special Care Nursery Nurse and his father was a (go figure) plumber. Growing up, he learned the plumbing trade from his father during summer vacations and weekends. After graduating from Braintree High School in 2006, Matt attended UMass Amherst in the class of 2010 followed by 2 more summers at UMass Boston to finish up his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Ruby, a yellow lab, joined the family in 2010. Matt then began to work for Lehane Plumbing of Canton where he officially began his apprenticeship. He worked for Lehane for over 10 years gaining valuable experience and refining his plumbing skill. He worked on many difficult small and big jobs all over Boston including Beacon Hill, Cambridge, Newton, Allston, and Back Bay. He learned that taking his time and being thorough in his work was critical to succeeding at his profession. His hard work and expert skill and integrity made him personally requested by clients and contractors for years. Matt loves working with people and never shys away from a challenge. He is great at problem solving and succeeding where other plumbers fail.
Matt has taken all of his good values with him when he started Ruby Plumbing. His company is committed to doing good work on every job no matter how small. He now lives in Scituate with his family and 3 dogs. His wife, is the manager of Ruby Plumbing and his father is the Senior Plumbing Advisor.
I'm a bit of a health nut so this is the one product I encourage people to get. Reverse Osmosis or R.O. is one of the best ways to get purified water in your home. This type of filter cleans your water molecule by molecule to eliminate all contaminates and then adds back in good minerals for health and taste. This system uses 6 Stages of filters and comes with a pump for increased flow rate and a small 3.5 gallon pressurized holding tank. It takes up a little bit of room under your sink but the water quality greatly exceeds any other type of pitcher filter or refrigerator filter. This RO water can also be piped to your fridge for purified water and ice. The faucet can be installed on any type of countertop and is wonderful for washing vegetables, filling pots, and drinking! Some systems are available without a pump if you do not have an electric outlet under your sink. This is most commonly installed on the kitchen sink but could be put on any sink in the house. Filters are relatively inexpensive (about $30 a year) and only need to be replaced once a year. If you find a different product you would like installed, feel free to purchase it yourself and I can install it for you, granted it is approved for use in Mass.
Another highly recommended fixture is the deep kitchen sink basket strainer If you do not have a disposer or disposal under your sink. A deep basket strainer allows you to rinse all your dishes without the drain becoming easily clogged. All the food bits will get caught by the strainer preventing them from causing problems in your septic system. From there it's easy to empty the strainer into the waste basket or better yet, the compost pile. This system cannot be installed above a garbage disposal.
We stay in constant communication with our customers until the job is done. To get a free quote, or if you have questions or special requests, just drop us a line. We are more than happy to help and look forward to hearing from you!
